Includes letter written to McArthur's wife and friends describing living conditions on the front lines. Included is the key to a code, devised to tell his family where he was stationed and where he was going, that he included in his letters. Contains his transfer orders and division newsletters. Also contains a wide selection of German and American propaganda dropped behind enemy lines to discourage troops. Photographs show McArthur in training camp, with his company, and in his theater of combat. Also included are photographs of his fellow soldiers, the Italian countryside, and captured cities.
